Spoken email arrives blunter than you meant it
Speech drops the softeners. You say "we cannot do that before October" out loud in a perfectly friendly voice, and it lands on the page as a flat refusal, because none of the warmth was in the words. This is the specific failure mode of dictating email, and it is why people who try voice for Gmail often go back to the keyboard after a week.
Hyprcore's Action Mode is the second pass. Select the draft in the compose window, say your wake word and "make this warmer," and it rewrites the selection in place rather than typing your instruction into the body of the mail. "Make this more formal" and "turn this into three bullet points" behave the same way. The wake word defaults to "Hyper" and you can change it.
Everything else is ordinary typing as far as Gmail is concerned. Hyprcore has no add-on, no OAuth scope and no access to your mailbox; it puts characters into whichever field has focus, which happens to include the compose window, the subject line, the inline reply box and the search bar.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Chrome extension for this to work in Gmail?
No, and there is not one. Hyprcore is a macOS app that inserts text at the cursor, so Gmail in Chrome, Safari or Arc all behave identically, as does the Gmail app in a Mac browser window you have saved as a shortcut. Nothing is installed inside the browser.
Does it fight with Smart Compose?
Not usually. Smart Compose shows its suggestion in grey and only commits it when you press Tab, and dictated characters arrive as ordinary insertions rather than as a Tab. If you find the grey text distracting while you speak, it can be switched off in Gmail's own settings.
Can I use the same setup in Apple Mail, Outlook or Superhuman?
Yes. There is no per-app integration to configure, which cuts both ways: Hyprcore cannot read your inbox or act on a message, but it also does not care which mail client you are in. Anywhere you can type, you can dictate.
Is there a Windows or iPhone version for email on the move?
No. Hyprcore is macOS only, built for Apple Silicon, and there is no Windows build, no iOS or Android app and no web version. On the phone you would be using your device's own dictation, which is a different thing entirely.
