The edit pass is where Slack dictation usually falls down
Most dictation gets you a first draft and then leaves you to clean it up with the keyboard, which eats the time you just saved. In Slack that matters more than elsewhere, because the gap between a rough transcript and something you are willing to post in a public channel is wide.
Action Mode closes it without your hands. Select the message you just dictated, say "Hyper, make this shorter," and Hyprcore runs the instruction against the selection instead of typing the words out. "Hyper, make this less blunt" works the same way. It has its own hotkey and you can set your own wake word.
The other half is that dictation streams. Words land phrase by phrase while you are still talking, so you can see the message taking shape and stop when you have said enough — rather than talking into silence and discovering the result afterwards.
Frequently asked questions
Does dictation work inside Slack threads and DMs?
Yes. Hyprcore types wherever your cursor already is, so a thread reply box, a DM, a channel composer, and the edit-message field all behave the same way. There is no Slack integration to install and no bot to add to your workspace.
Can I dictate a message and then shorten it without typing?
Yes — that is what Action Mode is for. Select the text, say your wake word followed by an instruction like "make this shorter" or "make this more direct," and Hyprcore rewrites the selection in place rather than typing your instruction into the box.
Will it get my teammates' names and our internal jargon right?
If you teach it. Custom vocabulary lets you add names, product codenames, and acronyms, and it biases both the local and the cloud transcription paths — so "Hyprcore" stops coming out as "hyper core" and your colleagues' names stop being guessed at.
Is anything sent to a server when I dictate into Slack?
